The DCT or Dual Clutch transmission, while it is more expensive than your regular transmission, are not as fragile as most people think. That come reputation comes from the CVT tranny, or gearless tranny, which is for now anyway the biggest pos for a tranny. Ford couldnt get them to last more than 75,000 miles in the 500. but the concept of perfectly smooth acceleration is nice for luxury cars.

As far as the DCT, not to thrilled about it, it is a minor scale of the 7 speed DCT they use in F1, but for the commercial market it has along way to go. And it's nowhere close to as fast as a standard in the hands of a good driver.
