People have been saying that since the Hydra-matic came out in 1940.

I think the standard will be around until those people who enjoy complete control of their machine no longer exist, whenever that may be. The enjoyment and skill of engaging a standard at precisely the right time is much more rewarding than anything auto has to offer.
