I have a 1992 camaro rs. it has a 305 which stok creates 170 hp. the car weighs 3100. Now i dont no about you guys, but i dont consider that fast by any means at all. so i am going to upgrade and modify it.
now i have consider this alot and there are basically 2 paths i can go.
i can tune the car meaning, keep the 305, intercool it, edlebrock heads cams lifters covers ect, do dual turbos, and change the chip to the BC4 package. (police chip)
or i can drop in a Zr-1 vette engine, and super charge it. (chevy expermented with this and called ti the collectors edition 92 camaro, only 10 produce and 9 were destroyed. its on tour with the Camaro Heritage Tour)
My point of asking the question i did, is that i know my car. i know how much torque and sway i can place into that car with out reinforcing the frame, which i dont want to do. SO MY ORIGNAL QUESTION WAS WHEN FACED WITH THESE TO DIFFERENT PATHS WHAT WOULD YOU GUYS CHOOSE ON YOUR CARS AND WHY?
Basically all i can tell you is, you have no idea what you are doing or what you are talking about. So for your sake, do some actual reading and research. You'll save a lot of money in the long run.
You are talking about twin turboing a paper weight 305, or dropping in a 15k dollar engine setup that is only going to put down 400 some odd horsepower, and cost you an arm and a leg to build/rebuild it once it gives up on you beating on it. the LT5 is not the motor you want to use since parts are scarce and not interchangeable with other LT series motors.
i honestly dont think you know anything about your car other than what you may have read in a magazine.
