jerry, you think its just from detonation over time? like i said that engine has seen plenty of detonation, i think it just added up over time, cause on that particular pull, everything was in check.
It was also obvious the damage happened over time. The rest of the bearing was very smooth like it had miles on it after the damage. If the amount of material missing had displaced instantly on one bad pull it would have seized a bearing from all the material trying to pass through a .002 space.
Detonation can cause a stress crack in rod or piston. Once it cracked it could let go at anytime. making it difficult to pinpoint when the actual damage took place
