I'm looking into building my sr20 up in the near future and I have a few questions that I am hoping the combined knowledge on here can shed some light on. First I was thinking of building the head with some solid pivots and new cams (and valves, springs, retainers, etc...) I found a how to on NICO and the guy claims that it will rev to 9000+ rpms. I don't need to go that high with the rpms, but I was thinking if I do that then I would want to set the red line at about 8000 rpms. The only problem being that I have no idea what duration cams I would need to go with to get my turbo to spool up with out massive lag and avoid damaging it by going out of the efficency range. I am going to upgrade to the Tomei ARMS B8446 turbo (
ARMS) if that is of any help to you guys. Secondly if I start taking the rpms that high should I just go ahead and build the bottom end while I'm at it, that would be the next week link that I would see aside from maybe the tranny. I'm just trying to research this stuff so I know if it is even feasible before I try and save the money.
