im pretty sure you can ride on the EDGE of the tire, ive seen guys' tires where the edge looked like an eraser if you know what i mean. you still have the peg feelers right? If i recall the peg feelers are you warning that you are approaching the limit of lean angle just before your bike says F U and leaves you playing slip 'n slide down the road.
