We also use Cometic HGs at DC, never had a single problem with them. I would steering people away from reusing / resealing any Cometic HGs, but all in all, we've also had great success.

As for Eagle rods, this would be one of the first times I've heard anything negative about them for a while. In the past, when the 'rods' would fail, the main reason being was due to the rod bolts. Ever since the upgrade to ARP rod bolts, I've not heard anything negative in relations to failing Eagle rods.
