And without know this guys height/weight are you SURE you want to recommend him a 35hp machine over a 45 hp one?
I race at tracks I may just be BIAS towards a two stroke for that class I think the powerband is the gay in a smaller 4 stroke, also the weight and weight dist. are quite annoying in a 4 stroke 250. Now for the big daddy yzf I love that bike. Yes Im sure ill recommend a 125, hes a first timer, I was 13 when I started riding a 2 stroke 125. I am now 20 and Im 6'2" 210 lbs and my 125 does more than satisfy me. I have a kx85 rm 125 and a cr250 for offroad toys. A 2 stroke 125 or a 4 stoke 250 are perfect beginners bikes, a 250 two stroke would be to much bike IMO.

BTW! Height and Weight doesnt matter much. It's learning the bike and techniques that matter the most. Look at Bubba Sterwart, he isnt the biggest guy but he can tear up a damn track, Ricky Carmicheal isnt the biggest guy either, and travis pastrana was a lanky bastard. All of them are bad ass riders.
