I found one for 2500 on nasioc, which I think is a decent year, with 20k on it.
I can always do a 1-3-5 shift.

No they aren't, thats completely false. I am not sure but i beleive the ratios are different. I don't know why but my boys tuned 04 with the td04, FM, and PPGs pulls on a vf39 04.
Give Edwin a call at Andrewtech he can answer any questions about ratios and ect. Thats the best shop for Subarus period. Also, any parts TXS parts you need you get cheap there down the street and look out for each other. ie FMIC 850.
I live 30 minutes from them and getting 1-4 straight cuts done next month after the 20g.
I have driven numerous PPG dog boxes there is nothing better than that whine and shift engagement.
You will just break another gear with the vf22. Dough out the cash now and be done with it. Never worry about breaking another gear.
Also, i would strongly advise against driving with a broken gear.
But, hey what do i know.
