yes, the axles have to be in it for it to hold fluid. if you drained the old fluid before removing the axles, then thats the reason it didnt pour out.
No, i actually pulled out the axles, pulled off the tranny, carried it all over the place and it never once leaked out of the axles holes. So i was kinda concerned when it started pouring out just from adding some.
