I asked Steve this question once a few years back . (OMNIMAN, exceed any Honda engine builder here in TR.com) and told me the samething as all the hardcore engine builders in the country.

"Warm it up for a few minutes and rev it to redline."

My brand new ITR motor I bought about 5 years ago (yes brand new cause I work at Acura at the time) went w/ this procedure except there wasn't a warmup time. The throtte got stuck at on its first engine start and was there for a good 10 second, lol. Don't believe me, ask John @ LHT cause we did the swap there, lol. The cable got stuck cause I was not paying attention was alignedthe cable to the trottle plate (fukin parts guy). Once that was fixed, clean up, left LHT and stomp on it all the way to 8500 RPM on Park blvd. Then droved home on I-275 back to Bradenton.

Hard 80,000 miles later and a few 12s runs, motor is still in my car to date!!!

So yeah, after that many miles, my motor is buring oil now so I've should have broke-in at the dyno!
