Theoretically you are correct, however I have seen issues with a VSS code being thrown & vtec not wanting to engage regardless of the fact that the VSS speed check is disabled. (Rare but has happened on cars running crome).

Cars running ectune, hondata, neptune have never had an issue with vss speed check totally working 100%
