Stock sleeved SR's have cleared 600whp. The amount of work to make an SR handle 1000 whp after 600whp has been attained is minimal in both time spent and money spent in going up another 400hp. Simple things like turbo choice, fuel choice, and machine work differentiate the two.
Having an Iron block does not immediately allow more horsepower capability out of the bat.
In fact, I know a few people PERSONALLY who have attempted to build CA's to handle even 500 whp, and had nothing but problems with them over and over again, specifically regarding the bottom end oiling, and clearances DUE to the iron block. One of them was Paul Souder. If you don't know him, you never will.

Show some proof please. Every drag racer I've ever watched videos of from japan is either SR or RB swapped.

It's not common PERIOD to see a CA18DET of any kind running around. There's not enough left. Please, provide proof of one even running over 500whp lol. and not a webpage yahoo japan from 1992 either, hahaha.

ok.

I beg to differ. On the main Tomei website.
The Official TOMEI Web Site --> tomeiusa.com
SR is front and center in the engines page.
CA is only listed in small font under "other engines".
sorry. just here to disspell the myths. It's a nicely written article by an obvious CA partisan.
Having worked with both plenty I can tell you I enjoy the reliability, performance, and engineering behind the SR much more.
And before you go around saying that CA's have a better valvetrain, the fucking things have hydraulic lifters also.
