Maybe, but without seeing the shot from the perspective of the SUV it is hard to say.
What I do see on the video is the motorcycle swerving into the SUV!?! He had plenty of room if he just stayed in the lane he was in while passing the video car. He had to go out of his way to swerve right into the SUV that would have been clear of the video car (and the motorcycle if he didn't swerve). Also, why was the video car so far from the car in front of it? If the video car was in the funeral procession, they should have been right behind the car in front of them, not half a block away.
In any case, I think it is really hard to say this is the SUV driver's fault. I bet 99% of people would have gone after sitting at that stop sign waiting for God knows how many cars that were clearly in the funeral procession to pass by. She finally gets half a block gap and decides to go... I probably would have to if that motorcycle was hidden behind the video car.
exactly
it just goes to show that cops have their heads up their asses all of the time. but its ok that they make mistakes because they have such a stressful hard job and blah blah blah. they chose that job, they should have the metal aptitude to handle it. Its a shame that most of them as fucking idiots. Not all, but more than enough to assume that the cop trying to pull you over is an asshole
From what I can see in the video, the SUV was sitting there getting rather inpatient, saw a gap, that was more than big enough, and went for it. I don't know anyone that would get in their big SUV just to ride around town with nowhere to go. They had somewhere they needed to be.
Sure, if you want to get technical, the SUV should have waited, but any normal person would have gone. The cop caused the wreck. People getting hurt was the cops fault. But because cops are above the law, the wrong people have to pay the price.
