common misconception. This is usually only stated because the stock 5spd trans becomes suspect above that if treated to a hard life. The engines have been shown to hold fine in the 300's and lower 400's on a stock head/block.
and the crank pulley thing was only on the early 1.6L cars, not really a big deal.
