In any case a ground could be a bad ground. Easy fix would be replacing that ground wire or checking over the connection.
You need to go over everything you pulled/unplugged. You may have missed something.
Is your car a 5-speed? If so... you could also have a bad saftey neutral switch. When you press the clutch down its not reading the connection hence not starting the car. Could also be the clutch arm is not pressing on the switch. If you look under your dash where the clutch pedal is at you'll will notice (2) plugs that are push button switches that the clutch arm pushes on. I don't remember which one it is but one of those could be faulty or not getting a good enough pressure/connection off the clutch pedal.
If you car is an automatic, then do you have your car in (P) Park? If so, then I don't know what else to tell you here.
