You should be able to hear it inside the car just by turning the key ON/ACC not trying to start the car. Sounds like a buzzing sound for only a few seconds.
Go to
2GNT.com and ask the same original questions you asked in the beginning of this thread. Those guys there should be able to help you since they have the same 420a based cars as you. You could also find information there by just searching "won't start" or phrases towards that aspect.
