But, if one of "the brothers" said you needed a new water pump (as opposed to saying you might need a new water pump), and assuming they're as honest as their reputation suggests, you're going to need to take this somewhere, because I can only imagine what would happen if you tried to set the timing on this car.
i was just sayin its not absolutely certain that it can only be the waterpump, but that would be the next step. i mean i know theres generally a small handful of things that can go wrong in a cooling system, but sometimes its not only a matter of a bad thermostat or waterpump. ive seen this problem happen before and it turned out the radiator was clogged with all kinds of crap, now thats probably pretty rare, but just another thing to keep in mind if the waterpump and thermostat dont work. but it sounds like hes not doing the work, so i dont think theres any explaining to do, but its always good to learn what you can, any legitimate ideas help ya know.
