Next response, how do you think the govt is making $ off trying to stop street racers?? The traffic tickets don't come close to the covering the costs of the PD and whatever stings they are doing.

Add this up(ie cars, helicopters, light bills in the offices, insurance for the officers, ....

They have to be getting pressure from lobbyist or teenage parents or something. What has happened that is probably not reversible is the ability to apply logic to arrests and sentencing.
