Default the laws are a LOT different in missouri/kansas

i live in kansas city, mo, which is right down the street from kansas... so i'm in both states quite a bit. i moved up here about 2 and a half years ago (used to live in clearwater.). about 5 years ago, i got arrested for street racing in clearwater. my truck got impounded, i went to jail, i was put on probation, and had many court appearances, and many thousand dollars in fines. needless to say, i learned my lesson, and i stick to the tracks now. i'm on a local web forum here called kcsr.org.

over the past couple of years, i've seen a few people get busted for street racing. you wouldn't believe what happens to these kids! they get a ticket and a court date to pay a fine.... THAT'S IT!

this one kid was all upset and pissed off that he got a TICKET for racing. i read the thread and had to post a reply. i basically told him that he got off waaaaayyyyyy easy. then he got all pissy and say i had no idea what i was talking about. when i posted my story, it got several replies of shock, awe, and disbelief.

i just couldn't believe that the laws would vary so much, state to state.
