Well, with a gt35 and an extra 100 hp or so, I would think not. You can make up quite a bit with HP on those long straights. If more so if you are set up well for the turns too.
I would shift to 6th at 3/4s down the back straight, never on the front. This is on the stock sti turbo, but a good suspension/tire setup
