youre right, its better closer to the turbo. Main reason being, that it keeps the rest of the system, including the IC, pressurized, and allows you to keep your turbo RPMs up for more instantaneous boost when you resume throttle.

it doesnt matter where you let the air out of a pipe, the pressure in the pipe will drop regardless

for example, my boost gauge is tapped into my intake manifold, according to the theory in bold, when my boost gauge shows 20psi, my fmic is seeing 25?

i've actually never heard of this being a question before, i would assume that releasing the pressure is releasing the pressure.
im interested to hear more opinions on this
