XM and Sirius are merging soon so it wont matter soon. get sirius anyways.... but it depends on what you like to listen to, there are a few subscriber specific channels... So either wait it out or get one or another based on shows or if you cant decide get sirius

You can listen to the songs of your choice as well, even though xm has a wide variety of stations and music(most commercial free) with an mp3 player you can listen to whatever songs you choose.

Just get a decent mp3 cd player. much less money and much less clutter + better sound.
