wht ecu is it running? if it's an unchipped gsr ecu you should let it warm up and then turn the car off and reset the ecu. then start it while it's still warm, with out touching the gas pedal.
Resetting the ecu won't effect a thing on an obd1 vehicle that is not throwing a code.
