just put the ports close to the center like P057 said, it doesn't make that much of a difference or not enough that your going to notice from the cabin of the car 1 in movements of the port
as for better sound if you sold those or traded them you would probably get a better cleaner sound out of 10s or 12s but thats just what i think... then again i'm about to put 4 15in vega's (pro audio not car audio freebee's) i'm my truck just for kicks
