1. because holding water is gangster.

2. because wood is porous - This was proven in front of me by Toby. He used a simple shop vac(20psi max) and created enough suction to lift a second piece of 3/4" mdf through the first sheet.

If a weak vacuum with such low pressure can pull that much air through a 3/4" piece of wood - you can imagine what kind of pressure you could be losing with the intense force a subwoofer produces.

3. wood glue gets brittle as it dries and will spring leaks over time.
