if its done by a pro, yes

The bad thing about it is that is aluminum casing, which in will weaking it a tad bit while welding.

A old customer had a small crack on the diff housing case. I took it to a welding shop to fix it, got it back but diff. clearance was way off. So no biggie, I was able to get the correct shim for it from Honda.

Well, 1 month later, diff bearing goes bad. Figure, no biggie, just a wearable item. 2 month later, it does it again, so I knew something wasn't right and located a new case. 1 year, no problem.

Again, I felt it was the cause of the casein either warpin or something but I suggest just buying a new one instead. You never know unless you feel like re-doing if it happans again.
