do yourself a favor and see if the machine shop can do something called "bullnosing" or something of the like. Instead of a knife edge its more of airplane wing shape. seen it in nascar engines (yeah yeah i know) much more aerodynamic from what im told. But who knows. dosent hurt to ask.
I know what you are talking about... i'm not sure if it would be of benefit for this application or not. i would be wanting to rev out alot further than the nascar cars do... if i find any useful info on that i'll post it.
