If you are talking about re-ringing the engine while in the car, you may have trouble getting the new rings to seat in the glazed bores. May also seat just fine, but you won't know until you try. If you are pulling the motor, you might as well do the bearings. If the crank journals look good, you can pretty well bet replacing with the same color bearings will take care of it.
Well, its going to be re-honed, so the cylinders hopefully wont be to bad.
He doesn't wanna splurge and pay for the bearings...I dont know, im trying to convince him.
I am deffinitely not doing it while it is in the car, the motor will be pulled.
