I started it today. I found a "walk through" that didn't remove the alternator. Instead they did it by means of throttle body. I started doing it step by step. It was all going good until I realized that I didn't have the right tool. I've got a 19 mm but its too long to fit anywhere effectively. I can see what I want to do. I can feel it. the whole nine yards. so i know its possible. Its just a matter of the right tool/find a slightly different way.
While I was in there, I noticed two things. One, the entire area is really, really greasy. I'm guessing this would be a common problem if the valve wasn't functioning properly? Should I be looking for any other problems?
Second, the tubing that attaches to the valve itself, is really stiff. Should it be like that? I kinda thought it was supposed to be flexable like all of the other tubing in the area. the tubing doesn't have any give at all. Its very hard. I'm going to have to look at it again when I have more day light, but it doesn't seem to have enough give to take it off of the valve without breaking it. any ideas?
thanks
