Its a little harder than installing a system - any joe can hook up a couple wires and blast away, but its not rocket science.
If you have basic knowledge of circuit isolation(diodes and relays) and read a few online articles about the different interfaces you can do it yourself in a few hours.
In my opinion, the hardest part is wire placement to keep it clean and looking stock. After all, the point of hte alarm is to make it harder to steal your car. If you that go in and splice up all the wires in obvious points with butt connectors that scream aftermarket its going to actually make it easier to hotwire/steal the vehicle.
