Breaking in a motor with the turbo on is a bad idea. Alot of metal will go through it. I will be just bolting on a non turbo header and breaking it in on that.
I was gonna offer the same.
I've always been told that a "proper" break in goes in stages of oil changes.
fill it with oil and run it for a bit, some 100 miles later, change the oil.
then go another 500 to 600 and change it again.
then, go another 1000 miles and change it again.
from then on, its just normal stuff...
for a turbo, the first 100 miles should be with a non turbo header.
that oil change should flush alot of the metal crap out.
then put on a turbo that is expendable.
at the next oil change, enough shit should be pulled out that the good turbo should be fine.
