Car clubs once consisted of many types of cars, bonded by their love of cars. These days, the "younger generation" dislikes anyone who is not just like themselves, and have learned from TV that they are supposed to continually put down the other guy..........that kind of behavior leads to disharmony and segmenting.
After hours of sitcom-watching, people have learned things guaranteed to destroy their relationships. Political correctness in school has guaranteed they cannot earn a living. A certain political party aided by the bad news media has taught them that life is screwing them and that they should be blaming someone else for their life being a pile of manure.
It is necessary that we have a pool of laborers who will not succeed in life, in order to keep our economy going; but in the process, we have lost a lot............including the car scene.

My evidence:
People segment themselves into small groups and don't have anything to do with any other segmented group. I see the segmented groups at car shows.
People group themselves by the type car they drive and
don't appreciate the other guys ride.
