Because SneakinDeacon understands the fundamental physics that allow a Civic with VTEC to win. What actually happens is when the car hits VTEC, it sends a ripple through the space-time plane. When enough turbulence is induced, allowing the ripples to amplify into smaller wavelengths of larger amplitude. When the Civic hits one of these "waves", it folds space-time as it passes in between each wavelength, or crest. This allows the Civic to momentarily leap ahead in time, while the opposing car is left in the standard space-time frame. At this point, your opposing racing wonders what just happened as your awesome Civic just embarrased them. This is why a Honda Civic is an undeafeatable car, thanks to it's incredible VTEC system.
