SOHC pistons in a DOHC motor make it 11:1 compression. Shave the head and you can go higher, but then detonation becomes an issue.

Compression ratio gets bumped to 11.5-12:1 depending on which piston used (the early KA24E had higher 9.1:1 comp, later was 8.5:1). Stock ECU should be fine, but be prepared to run high octane (94?) to prevent detonation.
