For a daily driven car either would be great. You can get low-mid 400RWHP on a USDM 2JZ with stock twins. The JDM 2JZ's have smaller turbos (CT12A, the same ones the 1JZ has). If your budget allows you to get a 2JZ then do it. You dont have to worry about using that expensive ass 6 speed that the MKIV Supra has cuz you can use a R154 (MKIII Supra turbo 5 speed) with a 1JZ flywheel, 1JZ bellhousing, and a 7MGTE (MKIII turbo) clutch.

Either way you go you cant go wrong. Both motors will handle in excess of 700RWPH reliably but anything over that you might want to look into upgrading the rods and pistons.

You can go NA-T for less money and make more power. The GE bottom end is identical to the GTE with the exception of the pistons and oil squirters. The GE can handle 450+RWHP provided the tuning is good. Just throw a big turbo on the stock SC motor, a R154, and an auto MKIV Supra rear end (3.76:1 gears) and go beat up on some 600cc bikes
