ok.. built both... built lots of both motors.. built lots of both motors with lots of different customer goals in mind. SR > KA for high end power. PERIOD END OF STORY. KA rods are strong if shotpeened and rod clearance is set right while running synthetic and 0 detonation. Bandit ran 350-400rwhp (330-390ft-lbs) all season long on original shotpeened rods. KA pistons ok to about 330.. but SR pistons are cast a lot thicker with way thicker lands and are very very good. KA's blow headgaskets.. you can not get around this.. 23+psi fries headgaskets quite regularly. A turbo KA is not a good noob build.. A SR is a good noob build... but then again there is no such thing as a easy build.. you have to know your shit. If all else fails (or if motor fails) come see me.
