Depending on how the pedestal is set up, valve and pushrod length, etc, the lift will vary.
When I was installing the X Cam on my GT with stud mount rockers and using a solid lifter compressed .040", depending on what pushrod length I used the lift at the valve went from the low .530s all the way up to .545... On a cam that has a theoretical lift of .542....

So quit bustin my balls about the exact number out of the calculator.
your dial indicator is probably just off.

if i pull a car 1 foot with a six foot rope or an 8 foot rope, it still moves 1 foot.
