and to change the throwout bearing... u would only need to unbolt the bolts holding the tranny to the motor pop out the axles and slide the tranny away from the motor a few inches... leaving all the mounts inplace, u should be able to get to the throwout bearing like that, i have change many clutches in hondas and found that i could do it this way... rather taking the whole tranny out... i guess in order to do it this way, you would have to have experience of doing it this way
yeah the only way that is going to work is if you already know what you are doing, if this is his first time doing a throw out bearing, then he should remove the entire tranny, not to mention that your way would be a mother fucker if you couldn't get the fork back on correctly
