I have been AC certified and r12 certified by ASE for 8 years r134 and r12 is not just "air". Thats one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.
If you have air in your system and have not vacuumed it your ac will NOT work properly. Air will cause the system to freeze up or the drier to get saturated.
