A similiar thing happened to an ex of mine, she signed all the paperwork and drove home and everything and about 2 weeks later the car was gone and they said that they could not get the deal approved, to make things worse they already sent her trade to the auction, this was at Courtesy Pontiac.
I've heard that the law states they cannot do anything with the trade until the deal is complete. For just this reason.
