I don't know the max an ls rod can handle. If you wanted to use your stock rods the least I'd do is:
shotpeen the rods $40
arp rod bolts $50
resize rods (needed when installing new rod bolts) $40
that is $130 right there and then compare that to about $350 for a set of Eagle rods that can easily handle 15psi.
The choice is yours.
