It has been done in the US before. Some shop in Oregon or washington that likes to play around with crazy frankenstein projects. It was pretty much a hack, but it ran and drove. I would begin to attempt something like this unless you intended on making a custom chasis and suspension up front or else it will most likely just be a hack job. Adding drive to the front wheels on a stricktly RWD car required reengineering the suspesion geometry (and strength) to control lift correctly. That is just one of the issues
