Also, while you're there, you may as well purchase a compression tester for about $30 and save yourself some money on this as well. I've never taken a car anywhere for a compression test (because I've got a gauge), so I don't
know what a shop will charge, but I imagine it's more than the cost of the gauge. So, you decide...
