I know, I know, it isn't really. But it is an interesting read. I can't say I have ever seen an intake manifold pull double duty as a top mount intercooler. Still impressive with 219hp and awd. It's sad they never put it into production, but it did pave the way for the Rallye Golf and the Golf Limited.
