Hey man screw carmax they only offer BELOW kbb.com trade in value minus any wear and tear.On top of that they won't add extra value to the car for any upgrades or after market bolt ons. They look at the car inspect it with a fine tooth comb and then look at nada , edmunds , and kelly blue book .Kbb.com is usually the lowest so they mostly use kbb.com to steal your car kbb trade on your car is 29,000 in excellent then they will try and bullshit you down to 27.500 by saying it needs new tires and "refurbishing" as they call it .they will try and talk you down to kbb good condition. A close friend I know worked for car max for 2 years then they run the cars through greater tampa auto auction where your vette will do around 30k wholesale.They know that vettes real wholesale value is higher then the trade in value they book out at . carmax tries to get each car for atleast 500$ to 2000$ less then what it will bring at auction . Some of the real garbage cars with frame damage and other problems they run it through their own once a month carmax auction on the backside of the dealership becuase they dont have to annouce frame damage like they would if it when through a real auction. They are really assholes. I think you will see when you try a deal with them .
