Physical size of bike question
For some reason I still want to get a bike after reading through the rider down sticky- don't ask me why. It's not going to happen for a while, but that doesn't stop me from hitting the motorcycle dealers every once in a while to check out the bikes.
I'm 6'3". It seemed to me that the 600s were physically smaller than the 750s and 1000s, a good bit smaller. On, say, a ZX6R I can sit with both my feet on the floor and maybe as much as a 45 degree bend to my leg. Not sure on the angle, but the point is, it seems like I'm really close to the ground. On a GSXR1k I still have both feet on the floor, but the angle is much less severe, more straight up and down. It seemed to be partly influenced by the design of the bike in general, because the ZX10R was closer to the ZX6R, though still higher.
What I want to know is what difference this would make in having a comfortable and effective riding position. Is the size difference a big deal? Does the height of the bike have anything to do with how you're situated in riding position? I would much rather get a bike in the 600cc range, but I'm not sure if the physical size difference would be an issue.
