Update: They are in the car!! After hours of fucking around, we got them in WITHOUT removing the manifold and dealing with that nightmare. Did have to take off a couple of bits, but all of the deteriorated lines have been swapped, the car ran fine at idle and on boost. Dad leant an invaluable hand and things seem to have turned out well. I am currently stoked and looking forward to my coil-over and speaker replacements, both of which should happen before month's end.
