As these guys are saying, it sounds like you are running rich as hell. The A9L thinks you are running the stock mass air and the stock injectors so it is metering the fuel for the amount of air the mass air says is coming in. Trouble is, you have 24# injectors so you are getting 26% more fuel for the given injector pulsewidth. That;s if your fuel pressure is ste to stock which is 39 lbs with the vacuum off. You're running 42 lbs so that means you're getting even more fuel dumped in. You need to either get a meter calibrated for 24's or chip the computer to compensate for the setup you have. The reason it sort of runs when you disconnect the mass air is because the computer goes into limp mode...it is trying it's best to get it to run well enough to get you home because it thinks youe mass air has failed. Also, the computer uses the VSS for other things than just cruise control. For one, that's how it knows you are coming to a stop and it will hold the idle high until you drop below 5 mph then it will drop the idle down to the base idle setting in the computer.
