It does feel good to work on your own car. Honestly it's hard to trust shops and random mechanics with your sh*t because u never really are there the whole time to see what they're doing. Being a girl, it's also very likely that if I didn't know anything about cars....I would get ripped off pretty often. Luckily knowing sh*t has saved me and my family quite a few pennies.

But I think the best part of it is when you get to enjoy it. Like that feelin' you get right after u busted your ass installing something....and get to sit in the ride and test out the fruits of ur labor.

Oh...and very importantly... trouble shooting is more often than not easier when you're the one that's done the mods. You can go through a list of things that could be wrong rather than being totally clueless and having to depend on other people to do the thinking and work for you.
